Ascot last weekend proved to be very unlucky. Midnight Sapphire ran an absolute blinder but unfortunately the pace was slow for the first three quarters of a mile which didn’t suit her as she has to be held up, but she still finished a very good second in the Trisoft Mares’ Handicap Hurdle qualifier.

Dancing Shadow had an unfortunate start at Exeter on Sunday where he was cannoned into after a false start and lost ten lengths. He made up the ground to finish fourth.

We run Ut Majeur Aulmes at Newbury on Saturday in the Bet365 Handicap Chase. It’s a hot race and he is plenty high enough in the weights at the moment. It will be a learning curve. Mary Le Bow is tried over one and a half miles at Wolverhampton for the first time on the same day and it will be interesting to see if she gets the trip.
