Three of our four runners ran really well on Wednesday on a very competitive days racing at Exeter.

Heluvagood won the 3m handicap chase on only his second start over fences. He was given a brilliant ride by James Best who filled him with confidence and put him in the race at the right time. This horse has changed markedly over the last twelve months and is now relaxing in his races and producing improved performances as a result.

Run to Milan ran really well finishing fourth in a hot novice handicap chase. As he becomes more experienced he will be able to be ridden more prominently to capitalise on his stamina.

River Bray settled much better in the handicap hurdle finishing third, it looks as though he wants further.

Mahler’s First runs at Fontwell today in the novices handicap chase. He has schooled well at home but I think the track will be a bit tight for him, but we are running because opportunities are limited for first time chases particularly this Autumn with the lack of rain.
