River Bray finished a creditable third at Uttoxeter today having run far to freely over the first mile and a half. He ran like this in his first run over hurdles and will learn to settle as the season progresses. He was the first runner of the season proper and it was great to see him give such a good account of himself.

Howardian Hills will be our next runner at Kempton on the 16th October and the yards other flat horse Istanbul Pasha runs six days later at the same course. There are shares for sale in both horses which are advertised on http://www.racehorsetrader.com/

Howardian Hills has been carrying the flag all summer with a win at Kempton and placed efforts at Wolverhampton, Salisbury and Bath. It is hoped that Istanbul Pasha, already a winner this season at Kempton and a head second at Southwell over six furlongs for his previous trainer will carry on in a similar vein. This good looking three year old has already two placed efforts at Redcar on good to soft so he should be versatile in terms of ground ie all weather or grass. He is being offered at £200 per 5% share and £80 per month all in.

Several of the winter horses are getting close to a run and should do so this month providing we have sufficient rain, they include Run to Milan, Admirals Secret, Mahler’s First, Dancing Shadow, Sweet Adare and Bolving.
