Dancing Shadow proved himself as an out and out stayer with a super win in the Edinburgh National on Saturday. The near 1000-mile trip to Musselburgh proved worth it with Dancing Shadow making light work of the 4m1f marathon contest in the hands of Noel Fehily. The trip and ground were perfect, and after a long journey home, he came out of his box bouncing on Sunday morning .

He has an entry in the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. We will also enter him in the Midlands National and there’s also the Scottish National in April and that will probably be his long-term target. It would be nice to get a run into him before then.

We are also over the moon to welcome Polly, my eight grandchild, and first granddaughter. It was a fraught journey for my son and travelling head lad Paddy after Katie’s waters broke on Friday, and he didn’t make it home in time for the birth, having received the news when they were at Manchester. But mother and daughter are doing very well and as we are all big fans of cricket, we are hopeful we will be able to put our own cricket team together!
