Admiral’s Secret fine win at Wincanton last week has given us the Topham Trophy at Aintree as a potential target. This is a 2m5f open handicap chase run over the national fences the day before the Grand National (on Ladies day). The handicapper has raised him 4lbs to 135 which means he will get in a race such as this with a very low weight. He is a very good jumper, and stays 2m4f on testing ground, so 2m5f at Aintree on more suitable better ground should be ideal. What a difference this season has been with the horse when last season he refused to race three times. The change of routine has been a big factor and undoubtedly his partnership with Alan Johns and his relaxed riding style has been significant.

Howardian Hills runs for the first time at Southwell tonight and if he copes with the different surface he should give a good account of himself.

We have an exciting 4 year old by Sans Frontieres being syndicated at the moment, details are on our for sale page.
