We return to Hereford today where Sweet Adare runs in the mares handicap hurdle for which she is top weight and favourite. She will be ridden by the 7lb claimer Edward Austin, who works for Jonjo O’Neill. Sweet Adare will only be 1lb higher (after the 7lb claim is taken off) than when she won at Stratford. The ground will be softer than she has experienced in the past and the trip is 2m 3f, both of which may contribute to her undoing today as her best performances have been over 2m on better ground.

It has been a disappointing week runners wise with Exeter being abandoned on Sunday denying Admiral Secret and Get Wishing their first runs of the season.

River Bray was unable to run at Kempton on Monday due to a minor problem but should be able to run next week at Wincanton.

Ut Majeur Almes goes to Bangor on Saturday where at least he has more of a racing weight that has been the case recently.
