The season starts at Newton Abbot on Saturday and River Bray is a likely runner in the novice hurdle subject to the ground being acceptable. He will be carrying a penalty but should still give a good account of himself. There was a reason for his disappointing run at Southwell and that issue has been addressed.

Bolving is also entered on the same day in tha 2m 4f handicap chase and his participation depends entirely on the state of the ground.

Dancing Shadow finished his season with a solid effort at Exeter earlier in the week. He was a fast finishing fourth only beaten 5 lengths in the end and would have finished much closer if they hadn’t reduced the length of the race by 182 yards. It was a good weight carrying performance none the less and he goes on his summer break in good form and should be a force in staying chases next season.
