Our New Year’s Day runners at Exeter went well, in particular Admirals Secret (pictured) who finished third in a competitive handicap hurdle and has been allotted a mark of 116. He’s a very exciting young horse with a future over fences.
Bindon Mill ran in a very hot beginners’ chase won by Robinsfirth who a couple of years ago had Thistlecrack behind him in a grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham.
He was a bit green on his first start over fences but he got it together and finished well. He’ll go to Exeter on January 17 in a three mile 0-120 handicap chase.
At Wolverhampton, Mary Le Bow was unfortunate to be given so much ground to make up turning in but she responded well to be beaten three lengths. The handicapper has dropped her a pound and she runs January 21 at Lingfield.
Heluvagood produced his best performance to date in a 2m novice hurdle at Chepstow on Sunday. He obviously wants further, but we were very pleased with his performance and he looks to be staying chaser in the making.
Ut Majeur Aulmes runs on Saturday either at Wetherby or Warwick. I’d imagine it will be Warwick as cold whether is forecast and it will be an easier race. He’s in cracking form and we’re looking to running him.
