The autumn rain has come with avengeance, but the ground wasn’t the reason for not running Sweet Adare and River Bray this week – it was just that we felt the races were too competitive. River Bray now goes for the Salmon Spray Handicap Hurdle at Fontwell tomorrow unless it is horrendously heavy. Sweet Adare goes for the Novice Handicap Chase at Wincanton on Thursday – it looks quite a competitive affair, but at least it is a handicap and she will be racing off her mark.

A week tomorrow Get Wishing runs at Uttoxeter in the 2.5 mile Handicap Chase. He has come on a lot from his initial run over fences at Bangor and we are hoping for a big run.

Midnight Sapphire, who was a good servant to the yard a few years ago, has returned to Shutscombe Farm having had a reasonable successful summer with her previous trainer. She has, in the past, been very consistent and we look forward to getting her back on the track.
