The continuing weather has had a big impact on national hunt racing this winter with many fixtures being cancelled including today’s at Market Rasen where Admirals Secret had a good opportunity in the novices handicap chase.

Luckily Wincanton held there fixture last week and despite unsuitably heavy ground both Run to Milan and Mahler’s First put in good performances.

Run to Milan left his Sandown performance well behind when finishing a good second to a high class Paul Nicholls recruit. He will go novice chasing next season.

Mahler’s First finished an encouraging fifth, he should now be qualified for handicaps. This huge horse should have a bright future over fences and there is a 15% share available in him.

Hopefully we will have a busy weekend with entries at Carlisle, Exeter and Uttoxeter.
