The 2 day meeting at Chepstow heralds the start of the National Hunt season proper and we run Dancing Shadow in the Veterans Chase on Friday and River Bray in the 2 mile Handicap Hurdle on Saturday. Both are extremely well and although Dancing Shadow is in a fairly hot contest it will be interesting to see whether he can make the best of his lowly 10st. River Bray is in great order and starts the season in the same race as he did last season and we hope he can carry on in the same form as he finished last season with his good second at Stratford.

There is a possibility Sweet Adaire may run in the 2 mile Novice Chase at Newton Abbot on Sunday. It is a very hot affair, but the rules dictate that a horse having its first run over fences must run against novices and there are very few opportunities for this first run. In the past you could always run a first time chaser against experienced handicappers which was far more sensible and satisfactory.
