River Bray won the feature race at Wincanton yesterday, the 0-130 Handicap Hurdle, off top weight of 11-12. It is very difficult to win these sort of races in basically the Champion Trainer’s backyard and he produced the 2nd placed horse – these first two going well clear of the rest of the field. River Bray was ridden by Tom Scudamore who was having his first winner for the yard and he is in great form having just won what was the Hennessy Gold Cup. He gave the horse a perfect ride.

On the same card Bindon Lane ran in his second chase – a 0-100 Handicap over three and a quarter miles. He was ridden by a young jockey, Jordan Nailer, who is definitely going places having ridden 4 winners in the last 7 days. He gave him a great ride and got him jumping beautifully until the horse eventually ran out of steam and finished 3rd to a well handicapped winner. It was an exceptional performance by the horse and it bodes well for the future as he is on a mark of 77.

Dancing Shadow ran a great race at Exeter today and finshed a close 3rd in the 3 mile 6 Handicap Chase. He jumped very well and ran enthusiastically and his day must surely come before too long.

Next week we run Haldon Hill possibly at Leicester and Sweet Adare goes to Cheltenham in the Mares Handicap Chase.
