Since Victor took out his professional license in 1998, he has earned the reputation of a man who can nurture talent and produce a peak performance on the day. His ability to improve racehorses that are new to his yard beyond recognition also sets him apart.
Victor comes from a background entrenched in racing. His father was a professional jockey and licensed trainer and he himself rode successfully as an amateur for several years.
His deep seated knowledge of thoroughbreds means no stone is left unturned in his desire to train them to reach their full potential.
Happy and healthy horses will try and win races and it is this approach that has led to some stunning results.
Over the years Victor has handled some quality jumpers including Lord Sam, Giles Cross, Ambion Wood, Russian Trigger, Exmoor Ranger, Lodge Lane, Roudoudou Ville and Seebright.
In the past five seasons, he has achieved an impressive strike rate of 18% in bumpers, hurdles and chases.
To achieve this record over a sustained period shows the consistent success the yard attains every season. This is in no small part due to Victor’s ethos of training for longevity. Victor is renowned for his patience, and in giving young horses time to mature and grow before running them; they produce the results when it matters.
